The Advanced Manufacturing Consortium has an opening for a multicultural community engagement coordinator.
Location: Work from home. Must be located in either Henry, Fulton, Defiance, Williams or Paulding Counties in northwest Ohio. Must maintain an in-person presence in the five county area.
Employment Type: Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), 1099 contract
Duration: Immediate start date through July 31, 2025 | Extension available based on performance and available funding.
Compensation: This is a contracted position that is paid out on a monthly basis. Pay rate will be based on experience at a range of $40-$50/hr.
About the AMC: The Advanced Manufacturing Consortium (AMC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the manufacturing industry in Northwest Ohio. We work with manufacturers, educational institutions, and community partners to promote manufacturing careers and build a skilled workforce.
About the New American Workforce Program: The AMC is launching the New American Workforce Program, an initiative designed to provide training and job placement services to immigrants and migrant workers in the manufacturing sector. This program offers technical skills training, manufacturing-specific ESL instruction, job placement assistance, and long-term support to help participants achieve sustainable employment.
Position Summary: The Spanish speaking community representative will play a vital role in the success of the New American Workforce Program by actively engaging with the Spanish-speaking community in northwest Ohio. This individual will serve as a liaison between the AMC and the community, promoting the program and facilitating communication and participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively promote the New American Workforce Program within the Spanish-speaking communities of Henry, Fulton, Defiance, and Williams Counties
- Establish and maintain relationships with businesses, clubs, organizations, and community groups serving the Spanish-speaking population
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness of the program and its benefits
- Serve as a communication link between the Spanish-speaking community and the AMC program management team, providing feedback and addressing concerns
- Utilize social media platforms to engage with the Spanish-speaking community and promote the program
- Assist with program enrollment, including answering questions and guiding individuals through the application process
- Support program implementation and job placement efforts, connecting graduates with employment opportunities
- Perform other duties assigned
Qualifications
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required
- Strong understanding of the local Spanish-speaking communities in northwest Ohio
- Ideal candidates will have established ties with businesses, clubs and organizations frequented by the Spanish-speaking community
- Passion for helping others achieve career success
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in manufacturing or workforce development is a plus
